Delete account and data

Note: This English version is a courtesy translation. In case of discrepancies, the German version is legally binding.

You can request permanent deletion of your RatePresso account and the associated data even without the app installed.

In the app

Open Profile → Account → Delete account and confirm the permanent deletion.

Without the app

Send your deletion request to contact@ratepresso.com. State your RatePresso username and, if available, the contact email address or sign-in provider on file. Do not send passwords or identity documents. To prevent deletion requests by third parties, we verify your assignment to the account and may request reasonable additional proof.

Delete individual data and keep your account

You can remove your own reviews, comments and review photos using the respective edit/delete controls and change or remove voluntary profile details in your profile. Alternatively, send a request to contact@ratepresso.com: state your username, the specific content or data to be deleted and that your account should remain active. Do not send passwords. After verifying account ownership, we remove the specified data from active systems; the account and content that was not specified remain. The periods and exceptions for moderation evidence, legal claims and backup copies described below apply accordingly.

Which data is deleted?

Your authentication account, profile and private contact details, your own reviews, comments, likes, uploaded media, push tokens, friendship references, passport/progression data as well as private café requests and management rights are removed from active systems. Other users' content is retained; personal references to your account are cleaned up.

Retention and timeline

Once ownership is confirmed, we process the request without undue delay and inform you once it is complete. Where the GDPR applies, we generally respond within one month; any legally permissible extension will be justified. Completed reports and necessary moderation evidence may generally be retained for up to twelve months, and longer only where specific legal claims or statutory obligations require it. Technically unavoidable backup copies are overwritten according to the providers' backup cycles. Further information is available in the privacy policy.
